Ship and Shoot

‘Ship & Shoot’ is a unique process for getting high quality photography of your products. You ‘ship’ us your products, we ‘shoot’ them in our studio and deliver the images via dropbox link. No hassle, just great quality images, straightforward and fuss free.

We shoot product photography for advertising, editorial, packaging, PR and e-commerce commissions for a wide range of clients throughout the UK. Whether you are a small start up or a large corporation, we can provide an economical solution for your product photography needs! Investing in quality product photos is one of the most effective ways to increase sales on your website and is essential in developing professional print catalogs or brochures.

‘Ship & Shoot’ photography pricing is for clean, ‘on white’ tabletop products. Larger items can be shot, but if your product is too large to sit comfortably and sensibly on a tabletop, please get in touch and we can discuss the options and quote.

THE PROCESS IS SIMPLE!

FAQ

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

Simply contact us via email or give us a call to discuss the scope of your project.

HOW DOES THE QUEUE WORK?

We operate on a first-in, first-out shooting system that we call a queue. As soon as your products arrive your project is put in a queue and you will be notified via e-mail.

CAN YOU GUARANTEE A TURNAROUND DATE?

We can not guarantee the turn around of your project when using our standard service. Please allow for 5-10 business days. If your project has a very tight deadline, please give us a ring and we may be able to do a rush service for you, for an additional fee.

HOW MUCH EDITING IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF A PHOTO?

Usually, we do any minor retouching, perspective correction and colour adjustments as standard, included in the pricing. If your product photo requires additional retouching it will be billed at our hourly editing rate. All additional editing is done with your authorisation only.

HOW SOON WILL I GET MY PHOTOS?

There are many factors that will determine your projects turn around time. Typically these factors include: the number of photos you need, any additional retouching requirements you may have and how many projects we have queued before you.
Typically we can turn a project around within 5-10 business days using our standard service. In many cases we'll have them finished much sooner. Do get in touch if you have a particularly tight deadline.

HOW ARE IMAGES DELIVERED?

Images are uploaded to our dropbox, and we will email you download links. This gives you the ability to download the files onto various computers and share the link with your designers or web team. We store the files in our dropbox for 1 month, however this can be extended for an extra fee, if required.

CAN YOU WORK DIRECTLY WITH OUR PUBLISHER OR WEB DEVELOPER?

Certainly, we are very used to working with designers, PR experts, web developers and other specialists. Put us in touch with your publisher or web designer and we'll get them whatever they need so that you can focus on your business.

HOW ARE PRODUCTS RETURNED?

We prefer that you include return shipping labels or a courier account number with your shipment for product return. We can arrange return shipping and the cost will be added to the invoice.

ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS ON HOW WE USE OUR PHOTOS?

Photopia retain the copyright of the images (once an image is photographed, regardless of the object depicted in the photo, it is by law the property of the photographer). However, all our photos are released with full reproduction rights. This means that you can use them however, whenever and as much as you want, for as long as you like.

WHAT KIND OF PRODUCTS CAN YOU PHOTOGRAPH?

We do not have limitations on the type of products we photograph. We'll take pictures of anything! If you are unsure please contact us before sending anything.

DO YOU HAVE PRODUCT SIZE LIMITATIONS?

‘Ship and Shoot’ rates are for tabletop photography. But larger products can be arranged so just get in touch. The rule of thumb is that if you can ship it, then we can shoot it. Obviously there are always exceptions so please contact us if you're unsure. For particularly large objects it is sometimes easier for us to come to you, we would be more than happy to discuss and quote this option.

CAN I SIT IN ON MY PHOTO-SHOOT?

Because of the nature of our first-in, first-out queue it is very difficult to determine exactly what day and time we'll be shooting your products so we don’t typically have clients sit in on the shoot.

WHAT FILE TYPES DO YOU PROVIDE?

We can create and send your final images in any file format you need. Just let us know your specifications before we begin editing.
Most often we provide high res images as RGB jpegs. But we are more than happy to provide another version e.g. CMYK, TIFF or PSD. All web images are resized to your specs and compressed as web-optimised jpegs.

HOW LARGE CAN I PRINT MY PHOTOS?

We use top of the range digital camera equipment, and our images have been printed up to 48 sheet billboard size. Please let us know if you have a particular project in mind for your images, and we can shoot and process accordingly.

HOW DO YOU ENSURE COLOUR ACCURACY?

We make every effort to keep our computer monitors, cameras and lighting calibrated to ensure consistent colour translation of your products. There are many factors that may alter the way you see the colours of your product shot. For instance, every colour can appear slightly different from one screen, user settings or operating system to another. Colour balancing is an art in itself and takes a good eye. If you feel the colours of your photo are off please let us know and we can make any necessary adjustments in editing.

DO YOU OFFER 360 DEGREE PHOTOGRAPHY?

Yes, please contact us for a quote to show your product off from every angle!

WHAT KIND OF RETOUCHING CAN YOU DO?

Everything from simple spot touching to colour changes to complicated image composite projects. We pride ourselves on being extremely proficient digital retouchers.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RGB AND CMYK?

RGB and CMYK are the two most common ‘colour modes’ used in digital and print media. RGB mode (Red, Green, Blue), is optimised for displaying images on computer monitors and other devices. The printing world operates in CMYK mode (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). Within these colour modes there are many different specific colour profiles. If your are not sure, we can liaise with your graphics department, designers or printers to ensure we produce the image types and formats to match your exact needs.

WILL YOU WORK FOR TRADE?

Believe it or not we get asked this quite a bit. Usually, we'll decline but it cant hurt to ask. If you have a cool new product and are working on a tight budget we might consider it.

DO THE PRICES INCLUDE VAT?

We are VAT registered, our number is GB 192 7613 85. Prices quoted on this website are excluding VAT, so there will be VAT added on top of the prices shown.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE MY PAYMENT?

We prefer BACS payments, these are quick, easy and free.
